My name is Ryan Mumna and I am a year 12 student in Don Bosco technical school, Gabutu. I have recently been accepted into Acatech Aviation college to study a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. Since my father became very ill and has been unable to work, my mother is the sole provider of my family by working in the informal sector. My dream is to go to aviation school – i have the passion and drive but unfortunately the tuition fees are much more than my family can afford.

A bit more about me:
I’m 25 year’s of age and come from a mix parentage of Oro and Milne Bay with a family of four girls and two boys. When my father became ill and was unable to work it created a lot of financial pressure on my family. this ultimately led to me dropping out of high school.
I got my life back on track 4 years ago when i started studying (Automotive Light Vehicle Mechanic) at Don Bosco Technical School. i am due to graduate this year. I have recently been accepted to undertake a diploma course at Acatech Aviation College in Port Moresby.
My mother is the soul bread winner for our family. Earning between K50-K100 per day by selling donuts and banana chips in the informal sector, my family just cant afford the tuition fees. i have been applying for education grants with no luck so far.
It is my dream to be able to go to Acatech Aviation College and become an Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic. i want to make my parents proud and to be in a position to help my people and my community.
Your aid will be greatly appreciated
